Abstract
The theme of the section was a topic with undisputed historical relevance. The focus was on the determination of the role of the sea as a polarizing and divisive space for perception and action, also with the help of modern information technologies (text and data mining). This article attempts to summarize the results in a larger historical context and add one or two additional comments.
