Sound Installation as Ecosystemic Construction

Abstract

In the lecture transcribed here, Di Scipio commented on one of his sound installations, Condotte Pubbliche (public conducts), at the time being featured in his solo exhibition “sound. self. other”, at the Galerie Mario Mazzoli, in Berlin. In rather informal terms, the lecture describes that particular work as an “ecosytemic construction”. It overviews the real-time and room-depedent process, evidencing differences and similarities with previous of Di Scipio's works. The artist also rhapsodically touches upon a number of more general implications of aesthetic and ethical-technological (political) nature.
