„Lasst doch den ganzen Bau leer“

Heinrich Klotz und die Anfänge des Deutschen Architekturmuseums in Frankfurt am Main

  • Wolfgang Voigt (Autor/in)

Abstract

The Museum for German Architecture (DAM) in Frankfurt am Main turned 30 years old in June 2014. The anniversary was commemorated by an exhibition by curator Oliver Elser focusing on the founding of the museum and its early years. The museum’s founding director, Heinrich Klotz, recorded audio notes from 1979 to 1987. This unique source shows the history of DAM and the city of Frankfurt in a new light, and Klotz as an energetic champion and collector for his museum, always equal to the great architects of his time.
